Re: Rambouillet and old Super Sport

I purchased one of the last orange Rambouillet. I love it. It is the first
upright bike that I have ridden, that is pain free! (I usually ride
recumbents). I spraypainted the fenders white and used white bar tape. I set
mine up with Ultregra Brifters, a Truvative 48-38-28 crank, and a 12-34 mega
range rear cogset. I put on a Brooks B17 saddle. The new Rambouillet is blue
and I think comes as a complete bike.

My 2003 Romulus has effectively the same frame with less fancy lugs and
paint. I like it a lot: the handlebars are wide enough, the chainstays
are long enough, the Q-factor is great, it just feels good.

Unfortunately, they sold the Romulus at too low of a price, so they're
gone, although you might be lucky enough to find one somewhere. The
Rambouillet is prettier.

I just ordered a Rambouillet from Rivendell. I had a chance to ride
one today and although it had mustache handlebars and the frame was
way too big, I was able to tell that the Ramb is what I've been
looking for.

The guys at Rivendell are an interesting bunch.
