I'm buying the bike for 950.00.
I rode it and liked the shifting. I don't know why they need the red indicator
blades though. I'm planning on getting a better road bike and letting this
replace my "Mountain bike with slicks"

For most people, a dropped handlebar style bike is more comfortable on longer
rides. It is also more efficient, so you can ride longer distances in the
same amount of time. If all your rides are under 2 hours, either bike will
be fine.

Couldn't you lower the handlebars and use the bar ends on those rides? They
have Cane Creek bar ends. What about an aero clamp on bar?
