Thinking of spending that $2500 on a Rocky Mountain ETSX-70

x-no-archive:yes

I decided to get a mountain bike with the gift certificate. I know I will
have to add a bit to get the Rocky Mountain ETSX-70, but I could do that to
get something of that quality. Problem is, this bike has an unusual set up
and I don't know how it will stand up over time. Any opinions? I am
thinking of getting the 2003 model.

Well an ultralight aluminum full-suspension XC bike certainly won't
last like a hardtail. What sort of lifespan do you expect from the
bike? How will you ride it and how big are you?

Have you determined that this particular model is a perfect fit for
you? If not, start with the fit work and pick a brand afterwards.
$2500 is way too much to waste on an ill-fitting bike.
