Yup, it's the Great Grape Ape.

42x15, soon to be 42x15. I wanna give the GRS brigade something to
chase in the flats.

I am familiar with that particular Sheb Wooley ditty, however since it
is rather large and from the 70's, it is the Grape Ape.

JD hairy enough to qualify for ape status

Lookie there! A downhill-specific bike without any suspension!

Just kidding. 49x17 street is plenty for me -- my legs are getting
huge, as in bulky (the burgers, Twinkies, and beer diet probably isn't
helping....) I just picked up a 42 for my other fixie with a 16 in the
back.

Using Sheldon's gear calculator, and assuming that JD's Schwinn has
175's, that's 75.6 gear inches. That's almost exactly equivanlent to my
49x17.

Hey JD, if you are running 175's, be careful in them turns. I think
those old Schwinns have low bb's, and those old rattraps (or are they
Shimano bmx pedals in the pic) won't help much with your clearance.

Weee!

I just got possesion back of my first fixie... an old Fiorelli I
converted. When I bought it it was plain jane white and a friend
offered to take it to his buddie's body shop and get it painted. He
asked what color and I said black... It came back this funky silver
fading into purple... It was horrendus...
I have to have new drop outs installed... The paint job gotta go..
