A friend said [regarding the last storm] that they were tons of cars
strained on the 70.

Yes, because people insist on stopping. If you stop then your stuck. I
can't understand how people who live in a "snow" filled state can drive
worse than those back east (and I thought they were bad). I come
buzzing down the snow covered side streets and people are looking at me
like I have tank treads. I have probably spent more time teaching
people how to get unstuck with both front and rear wheel drive only cars
than actually moving. I go down a street and there's a corolla stuck in
the middle. The idiot is spinning the wheels so fast that tread is
burning off faster than 10 years of driving. I get out to help and the
numb nut says it's stuck. I say, no it's not. Then it's about two
minutes of teaching how reverse works, then a push forward and off he
goes. I did this at least 20 times after the last storm and five times
already today.

I'm thinking about getting some tow cables and charging people to pull
them out.

No. On the east coast we say Route. Route 70, route 95, route 1.

The "I" thing seems to be west of the mississippi.

That's even worse. "Route" takes even longer to say than "i" :-P

Keep that crap up there. It's not supposed to snow down here in sunny
NM.

I never thought I'd use my snowshoes right out of the front door.

Hurry up and use them, it'll be gone soon enough.

I went snowshoeing yesterday. My feet were so sore I only skied for
four hours today. I went about 4 miles (2 up and 2 down) in pretty much
30" of freshies. I was beat! Today I got to ski some "pow". It was
about 6". Sorry, but I did not see what all the hubbub was about. I
guess the east coast has me liking the fast groomed stuff.

Biking content: I looked at my bikes today. They are pretty and lonely.

I rode T100 again, about 2.5 hours worth. Funny story, spoke with John last
night and he was being picked up at "9 a.m." to go ride McDowell with a guy
named, well we'll call him Jim. Jim has a real bad habit of being 20 to 30
minutes late so I declined to go stating the obvious "he won't show up until
9:30 and I don't want to wait for him".......9:20 rolls around, my cell
phone rings and John's madder than heck, "let's go ride" so I dropped
everything and we met at the base of the Butte at 9:45. Jim showed up at
his house right after John hung up then got pissed at John stating he was
only 20 minutes late....some people.

So I got my ride in earlier than planned and since John was hot under the
collar he beat me up on the bike (took SB, man that thing is getting harder
to climb with)....tomorrow I'm taking the RSS and then I'll start to work on
the 30lb Trek HT since all the parts are here now.

4 miles in snow shoes is quite a jaunt, 4 hours of skiing??? You suck :-)

Gary (back to roasting coffee)
