I'm impressed by that jacket from the last of Bombin4X's photos. It's
firefighter/Charlie Brown/homosexual Starfleet officer all rolled up

should win these guys honorable mention in the Darwin awards.

Why? Mountaineers climb all kinds of mountains in the winter. These
guys sound like they knew what they were doing.

I guess it's all what you hear. I heard that they were experienced climbers
but tried to climb with minimal equipment and clothing for the expected
conditions. Who really knows?

I never got to hear these guys "sound" off on anything, and was judging
them by the lack of avalanche beacons, insufficient gear, food, and
winter survival skills. And not "all kinds of mountains" are climbable
in the winter. Most bigger ones have short seasons.
