Thanks, I will do that if I need to in the future.

The reason I didn't post in a market place NG was mainly because they
are full of pure 'dodgy' spam and I assumed nobody read those NG's for
that reason. I'm sorry that I may have offended some here. But its out
in the open now :-)

He's been around for a number of years. I'm amazed he is still going.
Thats one committed guy! ;-)

Why would you post a comercial ... to a group like this and "expect
some people to be hostile."
You should expect everyone to be hostile. There are lots of ppl here
who have both comercial as well as non comercial ties to the
bicycle/outdoor industry. Yet, if you actually spent any time here, you
would notice that none of the regulars here pander the way you did.

Why would it matter if you were human or a machine. the result is the
same. I don't care about "what" you are selling ... just that yoyu are
trying to sell it on a non-comercial site, Human or bot ... you are a
douche.

Your getting closer ... information is fine. But comercial spam?

Great know one said you weren't welcome to post. You just aren't
welcome to post spam.

You sure have a lot of interests. James Bond, Hypnosis, Global Warming for example.
Since newsgroups are 'such a great resource for spreading information' why have you not targetted those groups with today's spam.

I don't believe we've met. Yes, I do have a lot of interests. I do tend
to do more than just run a business, just as you seem to also have an
interest in skiing, and if it is the same Dardruba, an interest in video
too on DV Doctor. But since you ask why I posted here, the type of
interest is the reason. Mountain Boarding is a minority sport and the
outlets for getting the word out are limited. This is rather amusing
though since the response to my posting has been more hostile than the
aggressive spammers, and at the same time has drawn attention to
something that you don't want attention drawn to. So its all good. Are
you really that angry about all of this? I apologise if I have offended
you and made you angry, but I am afraid that I cannot retract my
original post.

I just find it incredibly humorous that you are indignant about an OT post
in an ALT newgroup....these things are all but dead anyway, yet there are
those that still think this is simply a group about MTB, as it hasn't been
that in quite sometime....that's so cute!!

I think maybe if you'd been a long term member and posted a decent amount
first, maybe introducing mountainboarding as an OT "ride report" style post
at some point in the past people might have taken your "advert" a little
more kindly - but essentially it looks like you've looked through a list of
extreme sports NGs and posted to vaguely relevant ones knowing what you
were doing wasnt going to be liked. No-one likes a newbie to come in and
push something in your face when they know its going to annoy you.

However - mountain boarding (I own one, but I use it with my kitesurfing
kites) looks like a mental sport and good fun - i just cant pluck up the
courage to try it on a non-flat surface and without wind power!

I find it hard to believe that with a wit like yours (which cuts like a
spoon) you find any thing humorous.

If you care to read the quoted text in the post you are replying to,
you would notice that I did not mention it being OT (which it is ...) I
was simply comenting on the OP's use of this forum to spam for his
comercial site.

> these things are all but dead anyway,

And yet you still post ...

> yet there are

Never said it was ... never thought it was ... been posting here for
years. On the other hand anyoe who spams an alt group is pretty much
asking for a little name calling. Particularly when the couch there
spam with a note that say " know it is a huge risk posting this info on
a newsgroup
because it can be construed as unwelcome spam."

Face it Dave ... it's spam. The author knew it was spam, and he posted
it becuase publicity ...good or bad is ... publicity, and it is even
better when it is free.

So whats the harm? The OP gets his free pub. And I get to call him the
F**king as**ole that he is. Pretty much a win win situation.
