For MTB'ers in the UK, if you ever feel like a bit of a change my
company has just produced a new DVD about the sport of Mountain
Boarding. I know it is a huge risk posting this info on a newsgroup
because it can be construed as unwelcome spam. But I hope some of you
take a look anyway :-) [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] for more
information.

Lets see you spam a group inorder to get more web traffic to sell a
comercial product. All the while knowing that this sort of spam is
unwelcome. And from the looks of the title ... OT spam at that.
Then you get your panties in a twist that people might be hostile.
Why don't you go spam one of the many fs groups? Or better yet
MTBR.com.
Get stuffed douchebag.

You could always create alt.mountainboarding .... nah to much hard work
for those "Extreme" sports types.

It was at the risk of being unwelcome. Though given that many of the
people that attend the ATB centres are also MTBers, and also use some of
the same trails I thought it might be of interest. So I do not consider
it OT. Hey, words gotta get around somehow!

I was being lighthearted when I said that. I expected some people to be
hostile. If you do not like what I sell, then fine. But I hope you have
gathered by now that I am not an automated spam machine, or someone that
thinks they are being chased by MI5 ;-)

Good idea ;-) But perhaps not.

Thank you for your comments. Newsgroups are a great resource for
spreading information. But while I appreciate your comments, I also know
that there will be others in here who may actually take an interest, so
I am afraid I will have to stick around in case anyone wishes to ask me
any sensible questions or give useful feedback.

If you do your homework, you will find that newsgroups are great for
spreading NON COMMERCIAL information. Historically, ads are only welcome in
marketplace groups. Anything else is spam no matter what you think about it.
FWIW if this were posted on a marketplace group, I may have checked it
out. Anything for sale in a non-marketplace forum, however, just gets
skipped over. The only reason I clicked this thread at all is I was
surprised by the number of replies.

I actually admire your positive responses. It's very easy to be
negative when attacked, but you kept it going in the right direction.
While I am really not interested in that skateboard thingy in your
video, the fact that you came back and tried to put a positive spin on
the spam does make me feel better. Good luck in your endeavors.
For the record, next time prefix your subject with OT or SPAM. That
might help reduce the attacks.
BTW, what's up with that MI5 crap? I don't get it.
