 | Mountain bikes vs. Hybrid Bikes? I am interested in buying a mountain bike but the girl was telling me about these hybrid bikes that can be used for both flat and normal trails or take to the off road side but I'm a little scepitical on that.

| I depends on what kind of off-road you plan on doing. If you are on the road or trails 90% of the time, I would defineately recomend a hybrid. Riding a mountain bike on pavement is like pedaling through mud. Especialy if you have to climb. But if you are off-road most of the time, I would recomend a MTB. Hybrids can't really handle real off-road riding.
