to heavy for mountain bike?

i personally weigh 370lbs and i am interested in getting a mountain bike to go for rides to help lose weight. my question is if i get a cheap $50 dollar bike from walmart what would i have to worry about breaking? if anyone knows of a cheap bike that is strong let me know

Well when at walmart ask a worker if you can try the bike first. like just sit on the bike and put your weight on the bike and if you feel comfronably then buy it and if you don't and it feels like the bike is going to break theen go to a bike store and ask for a bike that will hold your weight. i saw on Rob and big and Big Black is 416 pounds and he got a bike to hold his weight at a bike shop.

hopefully my advice will work!

Good Luck and be careful riding your new mountain bike. hopefully you will find one.

walmart sells Schwinns, they are actually a good quality bike....... my suggestion is get a good comfortable bike to ride....mountain bikes can be a chore to ride, the tires are really knobby and can make it harder for pedalling with all the drag resistance....

i weigh 280 and i bought a mountain bike to work out with and found i had to switch out the tires so i could enjoy riding it......and of course as out of shape as i am the actual thought of riding the bike in the moutains or some really cool trails is beyond my physical ability at this time....good luck and get a bike you will likely ride....

i also recommend going to specialty bike shops they allow for test riding the bikes,,, test different variations and then go home to think about it.... if i would have spent more time testing my bike out i would have never bought it.....i would have made a different choice in bikes....

as for the walmart bike i would absolutely buy it....save your money for the new clothes you will be getting when you trim down.....good riding and have fun.......
