Moving to Portland, Need A New Bike - Cycling Mob: Road Cycling, Mountain Biking and More

Hello everyone,

I'm moving to Portland on the 30th and I want to buy a bicycle. I moved
from Colorado out here and I know I want a lightweight road bike of
some sort.

I'd welcome your recommendations on bikes, shops in Portland, what to
look for, etc. I'm new without any pretense of knowing anything about
anything.

Here's my lifestyle/living situation, if that helps: 1. I left my car
in Colorado. 2. I'll be living in East Portland across the Willamette.
3. I'd like to bike to work, so I may be suit and tie clad often. 4.
I'm looking to spend $200-$300 to get me started. Maybe a little more
for helmets, locks, accessories.
