I love hearing stories like this one.

We have a guy in our area who everyone calls 'the bike guy'. He's retired
and on disability but to keep himself busy he collects and restores old
bicycles. He works through churches and other organiazations to give the
bikes to kids who's parents can't afford to buy them. I know he's made
plenty of kids happy over the years.

Isn't it funny how every town seems to have a BIKE GUY. We had a bike
guy when I lived in Newark. My bike came from the BIKE GUY when I was
7 years old. My parents could not afford a bike for me so the BIKE GUY
gave me one of his. It was not the best looking bike in the world, but
I remember how happy it made me. Every town seems to have a BIKE GUY
and a CAT LADY....(the woman who lives in the scary house and has 100
cats.)
Maggie (grateful for THE BIKE GUYS)

Re: The Christmas Bike

I am the neighborhood bike guy. Two neighborhood Dads showed up at my
door after 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve looking for help getting their young
'uns Christmas bikes put together. I spared them my "you shouldn't
have bought a department store bike" lecture and got the bikes set up.
It rained all day Saturday, but as soon as the sun came out Sunday both
kids were out on the new bikes having fun.
