Around here it's between 10-15 bucks. Fair enough considering shop time,
but more than I'd like to spend.

I patch my tubes with Remas until I get around to replacing the tubes
every couple years. I don't even pull the wheel off the bike, just pull
out the little bit of tube that needs patching--like a hernia operation.
;-) Five minutes if I'm slow and costs 25c or so in materials.

You can always get something with a bit of tooth that's not too aggressive
for such conditions like the Michelin Moab, or even check out tires with
"inverted" treads.

I used to use the 700c version of the Moab when it existed, and it was
very quiet, fast rolling, and quite grippy for winter commuting.

Nashbar's got a lot of 26" rubber on sale now:

With the 1.5 IRC Metros, you'll probably shave over a pound off of your
ride. A pound of rotational weight combined with the lower rolling
resistance will be very noticeable, especially when accelerating off
the line.

Next Avalon 26-inch Women's Comfort Bike
OUT OF STOCK

$98.84 I tripped over one on the way in. placed by the devil san no
doubt. Stropped to GANDER! Well. Done. But there's no way in
expletive deleted that this is done at $100 and is still equal to a
M.O. $400 bike-bushings! Machining!

I watch the wal mechanic zzzick screw the walbikes together to JB
preload bearingbuster torques with a bench covered with electric
drills.

The smelter here swallows a steady stream of junk walbikes. steady.

Roadable waljunk is everywhere.

Used walbikes bikes are impossible to sell. why bother?

Wal(we have 10)insulates the ceilings with hung walbikes.

the LBS guys need blood transfusions post xmass

Quality bikes are rarely seen at a bike stand but $5000 bikes roll the
bike paths.

On the other hand, I've ridden at least 7,500 miles on my latest
quality
bike. I've replaced one spoke.

But the one thing I noticed, people who actually ride department store
bikes on this group have little problems with them

But we're quick and cheap.

I can fix a flat in less time than it takes me to floss. I hope this
clears up the mystery for you.

The Fury Roadmaster sleeps outside

Seriously, man, you need to relax.

I don't understand when people come into a bike shop with a flat. How
did
they get home or back to their car in the first place?

Out of curiosity,

That a pleasurable task yields practical
benefits credits it further.

keep a log.

And there's the adjusts __________ every ride notation a precursor to
the wear category.

Wal was prepared for the inevitable systems decay or slowdown-wal cut
quality and raised prices in 'enough' areas to justify that
operable conclusion.

But that Avalon is a knock out for the first time buyer despite the
fact that for a few hundred more... yet we know that bushing in a 130
corner is no Rickman.

I believe the buyer thinks he's getting something for nothing.
Wait till the sun burnms pout. That'll fixum.

road test road test!!
