I have not read any of the other posts, so this post may be just another
me too. I had a vasectomy back in July. My doctor told me to wait two
weeks before getting back on the bicycle. I felt like getting back on
the bike in one week, but I decided to follow his advice. When I went
back for my two-week check in to make sure things were healing well, he
suggested waiting another two weeks. I couldn't bear waiting that long.
I waited maybe 3 or 4 days and I got back on the bicycle with no
adverse effects. I think my doctor was a bit more cautious than most
considering his surgery techniques and the amount of time he wanted to
wait before doing the two sperm count checks, 6 and 12 weeks out,
respectively. I think it is better to be safe than sorry. But as far
as getting back on the bike, four weeks seemed a little excessive, so
you might guage it on how you feel. I started out slowly when I got
back on the bike, and gently ramped back up to my regular hard riding ways.

Perhaps most people no that this is total nonsense, but in case someone
doesn't: I lost nothing. In fact, I'm better because I'm more relaxed
since there's no worry about "my woman" getting pregnant. No worry
about the condom breaking. No worry about her "forgetting" to take the
pill or something going wrong with the pill. In fact, if you tell "your
woman" to get on the pill, and she agrees, there is a chance for side
effects that effect her libido. No need to risk this and other side
effects now. Any self respecting MAN, who knows he never wants to have
children or never wants to have any more children, would take
responsibility for the contraception and not try to shift his
responsibility onto "his woman." A condom is one option. A vasectomy
is another.

Re: vasectomy recovery time

I don't own a woman but I have a lovely wife who's given me 3 wonderful
kids. She cycles also and it's been no small sacrifice on her part. I'm
giving her freedom from worry and possible side effects from other methods.
I think this gives me much more cause for self respect than my sperm count.
I got nothing to prove and I'm not losing any thing but the "bags". I won't
miss them (and their 90% effectiveness) much anyway.

I won't insult you like the other posters but we see things alot
differently.

Apparently, "jabario" doesn't understand the difference between
castration and a vasectomy? Very rarely would any MAN get castrated,
particularly by choice (!!?). "Jabario" might want to learn the
difference between the two procedures before he makes unfounded
statements regarding vasectomy. Not to mention, "jabario's" attitude
smacks of bravado and lack of self esteem. Can this be considered
"penis envy"?
