I couldn't agree more - moved to CA in the 70's so that if you really
wanted to see snow you could drive 2 hours - touch it - look at it -
get back into car and go back to decent weather.

CA got too cold in 90's so I moved to Hawaii - gave all weather
related gear to goodwill - can't move back - too expensive to restock.

Planning San Diego to Dallas ride late April - hopefully after cold
weather has run it's course.

Well, I could see it. Say if the temperature were to drop below 77 degrees[1].
I imagine it would hard to ride with the tires deflated, filled with just a bit
of liquid nitrogen. I suppose if you filled them with helium you would be good
down to about 4.2 degrees. I'm not sure how well the tire and tube would hold up
to those temperatures though...
