Raw, they taste like pork. Cooked, they taste like crunchy
butterscotch. If you inhale one, you will die, as it will
instinctively attempt to crawl down your windpipe. However, the
greatest danger is striking one, because their peculiar aerodynamics
cause them to fly backwards, and if you hit one with your eye, it
will get stuck in the gooey part. Safety glasses and ski goggles
are indicated.
On the plus side, a live cicada makes an _excellent_ cat toy.

Hmmm, right in time for my visit. They never came out while I was
living there, so this shall provide an opportunity to see them.

Hopefully I'll get the chance to test this. I'm really working on
having a bike while I'm there. I think if I go a whole week without
riding I might perish.
