Contributing, but not the sole cause. He also believes we are near the
end of the _natural_ global warming and rising CO2 cycle. His study is
in last months Scientific American (or maybe the previous month?).

I didn't say anything about myself not trying to reduce the use of
petroleum, I drive fuel efficient automobiles, have replaced the heating
system in my home with a unit that is 96%+ efficient at a cost which I
probably will never recover in natural gas savings, and I do ride a bike as
much as possible.

What I was trying to say is everytime there is some other source of energy
suggested it is met with almost the same environmental protest as oil, and
the these alternate sources are mostly a joke that will not fill any real
energy needs.
