So at least we don't have to worry about you swerving into
another car or two, to avoid hitting a cyclist. And the mass
of goo and twisted metal that used to be a bike and its rider
wouldn't need a license and registration. Some ID wouldn't
hurt, though.

another car or two, to avoid hitting a cyclist. And the mass

run down by errant cyclists in the last 10 years in the USA? Now, how many
pedestrians have been killed by being run down by errant motorists in the last
10 years in the USA? I bet the difference is about 4-5 orders of magnitude.
Erratic motorists are a much greater risk then erratic cyclists. It is a fact.
I do not contest that the fact that foolish cyclists exist. I am merely
pointing out that the consequences of their foolishness tends to be less then
for the same actions taken by a motorist.
