What's the best method to start a cycling

training program? Have a stationary trainer and want to get into (better) shape before the season starts.

You are the best trainer. Always ensure to feel the crap and the pain for about four times a week. You'll be in great shape in four weeks.

Another method might be to buy the training book from Lance Armstrong. It contains some schedules on how to train, what to eat and what kind of exercises to do to get in shape again. There is a schedule for beginners and also for more advanced riders. But I would recommend your sister to get a normal race cycle and ride outdoors. At least I can't bear to ride inside I go crazy mostly.
